Event Overview

  • Description: High-speed 4 × 100m relay race featuring four-member teams, focusing on sprinting speed, baton exchange precision, and team coordination.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Participants: UG / PG students

  • Category: Boys / Girls / Open

  • Age Limit: 13 – 24 years

  • Team Composition:

    • 4 athletes per team

    • No substitutes allowed

  • Entries per College: As per availability

Competition Format

  • Standard 4 × 100m relay on a marked 400m track

  • Number of heats depends on total participation

  • Qualification Rule: Top 3 teams from each heat advance

  • Fixture and heat details will be announced on the event day

Rules & Regulations (Important)

  • Each team consists of four runners, each running 100m

  • Athletes must remain in their assigned lanes throughout the race

  • Baton exchange must occur within the 20m take-over zone

  • Baton must be carried by hand throughout the leg

  • If the baton is dropped, only the runner who dropped it may pick it up, and only within their lane

  • Starting blocks are compulsory for the first runner

  • Zero false-start rule for the first runner

  • Winning team is decided when the 4th runner crosses the finish line with the baton

Disqualification Rules

  • Baton exchange outside the take-over zone

  • Dropping the baton and failing to retrieve it in own lane

  • Lane infringement or gaining advantage outside the lane

  • False start by the first runner

  • Impeding or obstructing another team

  • Doping violation by any team member (entire team disqualified)

Equipment Rules

  • Maximum spike length: 7 mm (pyramid or conical)

  • Bib number (front & back): Mandatory

  • No electronic devices or headphones allowed

What Organizers Will Provide

  • Standard track setup and markings

  • Official batons

  • Referees and officials

  • Drinking water

  • First-aid facility

What Participants Must Bring

  • Proper sports uniform (same colour/team vest recommended)

  • Athletic shoes/spikes as per rules

  • College ID card (original)

  • Personal essentials (water bottle, towel, spare clothes if required)

Registration Details

  • Registration Mode: Online

  • Last Date to Register: 1 January 2026

  • Registration Fee: ₹200 per team

Prizes & Certificates

  • Winner (1st): Prize + Certificates

  • Runner-Up (2nd): Prize + Certificates

  • Third Place: If applicable

  • Participation Certificates: Provided to all teams that compete in at least one heat

Important Instructions

  • Teams must report 15–20 minutes before their scheduled heat

  • Late reporting may result in disqualification

  • Carry original college ID for verification

  • No jewellery, watches, or prohibited items allowed during the race

  • Follow officials’ instructions strictly

  • Doping or use of banned substances will lead to strict disciplinary action
