Event Overview Table Tennis

  • Event Type: Indoor Sport

  • Description: Fast-paced table tennis competition played on a standard table with a net using 40+ mm plastic balls, testing reflexes, spin control, and consistency.

Event Schedule & Venue

  • Event Dates: Between 4 January 2026 – 10 January 2026

  • Venue: Designated Indoor Hall

  • Reporting Time: To be announced

  • Match Start Time: To be announced

  • Match Duration: Time required to complete Best of 3 / Best of 5 sets

  • Break: 1 minute between sets

  • Format: Knockout

Eligibility Criteria

  • Participants: UG / PG students

  • Category: Boys / Girls / Open

  • Age Limit: 13 – 24 years

  • Participation Type: Individual (Singles)

  • Entries per College: As per availability

Competition Format

  • Matches played as Best of 3 or Best of 5 games

  • Each game played up to 11 points

  • Progression Rule: Winner advances to next round

  • Fixture details will be updated before the event

Rules & Regulations (Important)

  • Serve alternates every 2 points

  • At 10–10 (Deuce), serve alternates every 1 point

  • A player must win a game by 2 clear points

  • One point awarded for each rally won (regardless of serve)

  • Let serve only if ball touches net and lands correctly

  • No coaching allowed during the match

Equipment Rules

  • Racket: Any size/shape with one red and one black rubber side

  • Ball: Standard 40+ mm plastic ball

  • Touching or moving the table during play results in loss of point

  • Use of illegal rubber or glue is prohibited

Discipline & Disqualification

  • No throwing racket, kicking table, or abusive language

  • Warning → point penalty → disqualification for repeated offences

  • Physical assault or extreme misconduct results in immediate disqualification

  • Umpire’s decision is final and binding

Injury Rules

  • Maximum 5 minutes medical timeout per match

  • Bleeding injury must be treated immediately

  • If a player cannot continue, match is awarded to the opponent

What Organizers Will Provide

  • Standard table tennis setup

  • Table tennis balls

  • Umpire / referee

  • Score sheets

  • Drinking water

  • First-aid facility

What Participants Must Bring

  • Proper sports uniform

  • Non-marking sports shoes

  • Personal table tennis racket

  • College ID card (original)

  • Personal essentials (water bottle, towel, spare clothes)

Registration Details

  • Registration Mode: Online

  • Last Date to Register: 1 January 2026

  • Registration Fee: ₹100 per participant

Prizes & Certificates

  • Winner (1st): Prize + Certificate

  • Runner-Up (2nd): Prize + Certificate

  • Third Place: If applicable

  • Participation Certificates: Provided to players who compete in at least one match

Important Instructions

  • Report 15–20 minutes before scheduled match time

  • Late reporting may lead to walkover or disqualification

  • Carry original college ID for verification

  • No mobile phones or electronic devices allowed near the table

  • Warm-up only in the designated area

  • Follow umpire instructions strictly at all times
