Event Overview

  • Event Type: Indoor Sport

  • Description: Competitive carrom tournament featuring Singles (1 vs 1) and Doubles (2 vs 2) formats, played on standard boards emphasizing precision, control, and strategic play.

Event Schedule & Venue

  • Event Dates: Between 4 January 2026 – 10 January 2026

  • Venue: Designated Indoor Hall

  • Reporting Time: To be announced

  • Match Start Time: To be announced

  • Match Duration: Time required to complete one game

  • Format: Knockout

Eligibility Criteria

  • Participants: UG / PG students

  • Category: Boys / Girls / Open

  • Age Limit: 13 – 24 years

  • Event Types:

    • Carrom Singles: 1 player

Competition Format

  • Knockout format for both Singles and Doubles

  • One game per round

  • Progression Rule: Winner advances to next round

  • Fixture details will be announced before the event

Rules & Regulations (Important)

Common Rules (Applicable to Both)

  • Standard size carrom board with 19 coins (9 white, 9 black, 1 queen)

  • Striker must be flicked using finger only, from within the baseline

  • Touching, lifting, or tilting the board is prohibited

  • No blowing on the board or disturbing coins outside own turn

  • Referee’s decision is final and binding

Carrom Singles Rules

  • Format: 1 vs 1

  • Player choosing white plays first

  • Player must pocket all 9 own coins + properly covered queen to win

  • Scoring:

    • 1 point for each opponent coin left on board

    • Queen = 3 points (only if covered correctly)

    • Maximum 12 points per board

  • Winner: First player to reach 12 points advances

Discipline & Disqualification

  • Pocketing striker 3 times in one board = disqualification

  • Deliberate disturbance of coins or repeated fouls

  • Physical or verbal abuse toward opponent or referee

  • Use of any object other than finger to strike

  • Refusing to follow referee instructions after warning

What Organizers Will Provide

  • Standard carrom boards with coins and striker

  • Carrom powder

  • Referees / umpires

  • Score sheets

  • Drinking water

  • First-aid facility

What Participants Must Bring

  • Proper sports/college uniform

  • College ID card (original)

  • Personal essentials (water bottle, towel if required)

Registration Details

  • Registration Mode: Online

  • Last Date to Register: 1 January 2026

  • Registration Fees:

    • Carrom Singles: ₹100 per participant

Prizes & Certificates

  • Winner (1st): Prize + Certificate

  • Runner-Up (2nd): Prize + Certificate

  • Third Place: If applicable

  • Participation Certificates: Provided to participants who play at least one match

Important Instructions

  • Report 15–20 minutes before scheduled match time

  • Late reporting may result in forfeit

  • Carry original college ID for verification

  • No mobile phones or electronic devices allowed in the playing area

  • Maintain silence and sportsmanlike conduct

  • Follow referee instructions strictly at all times
